Whitney Houston is International Artist
Remember I told ya Whitney Houston is gloriously back?
As it’s just been revealed, Whitney will be honored with a very special International Artist Award at this year’s 37th Annual American Music Awards on November 22, 2009.
The exclusiveness of this kudo is that it’s only been presented seven times in the whole history of the ceremony. The previous recipients of the prize are such internationally acclaimed names as Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart, Led Zeppelin, Bee Gees, Aerosmith, Madonna and Beyoncé Knowles.
International Artist Award is given to those artists who have gone beyond the borders of their own country to be acknowledged for their superstar status around the globe, AceShowbiz.com reported.
We’re honored to have Whitney Houston back on the AMA stage after ten years,” AMAs producer Larry Klein said. “She has won the most AMAs of any female artist in history and is without a doubt an international superstar, so it’s only fitting we honor her with the International Artist Award this year at such an important time in her career.”
Congrats, congrats, congrats!!!
2009 American Music Awards will be held in LA’s Nokia Theatre on Nov. 22, 2009.
The announced performers include Rihanna, Green Day, Shakira, Mary J Blige, Keith Urban, Lady GaGa, Eminem, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, DAUGHTRY, Whitney Houston and Adam Lambert.
